The Industrial Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of electrical components, machinery, and systems to support IT and production processes with premier customer service. To successfully perform this job, an individual will require a combination of technical experience and hands‑on skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Electrical & Preventative Maintenance:
    Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems, including motors, control panels, and wiring, to ensure they are functioning correctly. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce the risk of electrical failures and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair:
    Diagnose electrical issues and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Installation:
    Install new electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Adhere to all electrical safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance in conformance with auditing standards.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with other maintenance and production teams to identify and resolve electrical issues and improve overall efficiency.
  • Flexibility:
    Work within a planned schedule up to and including 12‑hour rotating schedule that includes weekends as scheduled, and/or needed for production.
  • Toyota Production System:
    Conduct all work in accordance to lean manufacturing principles and processes alone or in a group setting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience as an industrial electrical technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including AC/DC motors, control systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Ability to read ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron or other controls equipment. Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety practices, electrical codes, OSHA standards, and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Knowledge of Arc Flash Standards.
  • Ability to bend and run conduit, install and troubleshoot Variable‑Frequency Drives (VFDs), and troubleshoot PLC logic.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Fluent in English;
    Japanese as a second language is helpful.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning ability: solve practical problems and deal with variable situations, interpret instructions, and collaborate to find solutions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, bend, lift, or twist; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch; must be comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights; willing to work in varying environmental conditions; able to climb ladders and work across multiple levels; may lift up to 50 pounds.
