Position
Purpose:
Speech-language pathologist will work with the IEP team to help resolve communication disorders, including the mechanical aspects of speech production, phonation, articulation, and language processing that interfere with a student’s ability to benefit from the district’s educational program.
- Screen, evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication disorders
- Provide a continuum of service delivery for identified and at‑risk students (including push‑in/classroom‑based services)
- Monitor and adjust therapy in response to student issues, needs, and progress
- Schedule, lead and participate in case conference committee meetings
- Provide training and education for families/caregivers and other professionals
- Complete case management duties efficiently and within required deadlines
- Conduct parent interviews as part of the assessment process, if necessary
- Observe confidentiality requirements for identified students
- Lead multidisciplinary assessment team for speech‑language evaluations
- Develop and complete designated components of the IEP for assessed students through the Indiana IEP system
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure all reports are completed within designated time frames
- Maintain and manage inventory of testing materials
- Attend required meetings and school‑related activities
- Adhere to the policies and procedures, including network and internet use of G‑CCSC
- Make positive contributions to the culture and climate of G‑CCSC
- Maintain a substance‑free workplace throughout employment
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Uses evidence‑based practices based on current theory and techniques in the field of speech and language pathology
- Works collaboratively with professionals from multiple disciplines
- Knowledgeable about Article 7
- Attends weekly PLCs
- Attends monthly SLP Department meetings
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Organizes time effectively and meets deadlines
- Preferred experience with push‑in/classroom‑based service delivery and ability to establish cooperative relationships
- Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited university
- IPLA licensure
- Valid Indiana Department of Education Communication Disorders Licensure
- CCCs (will consider Clinical Fellow)
- Experience working with students with similar needs, preferred
- Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation

- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels
- Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation
- Ability to operate office equipment
- Ability to reach in all directions
