Roadtex Transportation, a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializes in transporting time and temperature‑sensitive products through a nationwide network of 32 temperature‑controlled facilities. In 2022 it was acquired by Echo Global Logistics, augmenting its service offerings with truckload brokerage and advanced transportation management solutions.
Responsibilities- Assist the Warehouse Manager with hiring and training of new employees.
- Schedule and oversee warehouse staff, conduct performance evaluations, and implement company policy.
- Lead and develop company employees; provide training and monitor performance.
- Be accessible to all areas of the dock and yard, and conduct pre‑shift meetings.
- Coach and counsel employees on performance and development, documenting performance‑related material.
- Plan daily manpower needs to ensure timely and damage‑free freight delivery and pickup.
- Communicate with linehaul/dispatch at various terminals and dock employees to coordinate trailer and freight movement.
- Develop a plan for distributing break loads to achieve operational goals.
- Monitor service freight and ensure linehaul compliance, while analyzing opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
- Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information, and appointment scheduling.
- Perform administrative functions as required and gather performance data for reporting.
- Coordinate with account managers to meet customer and company needs and ensure OS&D is identified and processed properly.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and meetings; provide PPE and enforce proper lifting techniques and ergonomics.
- Report and document accidents or incidents immediately, maintain compliance with OSHA and relevant safety standards, and promote a safety‑first culture.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- At least 3 years of experience leading a logistics team or similar role.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent discipline preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to anticipate issues.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with data entry, inventory software, and related systems.
