• Assist teachers in teaching special education students in all aspects of the student day.
• Work cooperatively in an interdisciplinary setting with staff and students.
• Work in special education classes and/or general education with special education students.
• Assist teachers in the implementation of student behavior programs; when needed use CPI for deescalation and for restraints in coordination with other staff members in accordance with district policies (when school is held in-person).
• Assist with preparation of classroom environment and materials for special education classes and students.
• Manage and work 1:1 with student.
• Other duties as assigned.

SALARY: As per Unit C contract starting at $17.95/hour

• QUALIFICATIONS:
  • NCLB Highly Qualified.
  • Associate Degree or equivalent coursework preferred.
  • Experience working with elementary students.
  • Positive interaction style with adults and students.
  • Dependability, care with details, good attendance, confidentiality.
  • Such reasonable alternatives as deemed acceptable.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
