Job DescriptionWork collaboratively with the Pupil Services Director. This is a full-time, twelve-month salaried position. MA Certification in Special Education required.
- The position may include oversight of substantially separate programs in the district and evaluation of personnel
- Chair initial and 3-year re-evaluation meetings, as needed or assigned
- Review and monitor Individual Education Programs for compliance with special education laws and regulations
- Communicate with parents on a wide range of student services questions and concerns
- Work with Superintendent, Director of Pupil Services, and Principals to study data on achievement, IEP goals and decisions, and program design
- Assist in the development and monitoring of student services in the areas of: ELL, 504, civil rights, FERPA, nursing, transportation, early childhood and McKinney‑Vento, as needed or assigned
- Provide professional development, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Salary: commensurate with experience
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $90,000 to $105,000 Per Year
Job Requirements- Certification as Special Education Administrator, strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills, organized, data-oriented, and willing to learn and work with a dynamic team
- Prior experience in special education administration or in chairing a variety of special education team meetings
- Master’s Degree in Education
- Such reasonable alternatives as deemed acceptable
- Experience evaluating and observing educators, strongly preferred
- The ideal candidate will have had experience working with students in substantially separate classroom settings
- At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred
- Master degree preferred
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
