Building-based Substitute for the  school year to provide instruction, support, and to promote student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher or instructional assistant.

• Report to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building for daily assignments.
• Review with the principal all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
• Consult with the principal and/or staff to resolve questions and/or concerns.
• Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
• Develop and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Work cooperatively with staff.
• Respect student privacy by maintaining the confidentiality of privileged information.
• Teach the lesson outlined and as prepared by the absent teacher.
• Consult appropriately, with the building principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures.
• Assume responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods.
• Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
• Perform any other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the principal or designee may from time to time assign and delegate.

Per the GEA Master Agreement Unit C Salary Schedule starting at $18.40/hour
