Job DescriptionGreenfield School District is seeking a special educator to work with a team of professionals. Candidates should have experience working with children with learning disabilities, designing and delivering instruction, and special education case management. Candidates must have strong collaborative and communication skills. Willingness to use specific strategies for challenged students is a plus; will work with social worker and behavior specialist, as needed.
Responsibilities- Teaching students with communication disabilities, and supporting their inclusion in typical classrooms and school activities.
- Documenting student progress in all areas of curriculum, including academic and social/communication goals.
- Supervising paraprofessionals, and ensuring their follow-through with the program.
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to provide a comprehensive, inclusive and appropriate program. Support access to the general curriculum.
- Writing IEPs and progress reports, and managing all aspects of special education compliance for assigned student caseload.
Salary: Per the salary schedule of the Greenfield Education Association Master Contract starting at $54,141.00

Our preschool environment is designed to foster interaction among children and to promote learning through doing; in an active, prepared and safe setting. Opportunities for learning occur in individual, small, and large groups. Often, activities are arranged around themes such as colors, seasons, animals, etc. The schedule balances active play, exploration, and guided discovery with rest periods to:
- Support children in developing self-confidence, social competence and the enjoyment of learning.
- Highlight the essential skills for early reading, writing, and mathematical thinking.
- Recognize language is embedded in all developmental areas.
- Provide hands-on active learning based on the child's interest and sense of emerging skills, integrated with the Massachusetts Curriculum Standards.
- Use critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to discover new ideas and abilities.
- MA Teacher Certification, Moderate Special Needs or Severe Special Needs Certification.
- Experience with students who need therapeutic intervention and high levels of adult support.
- Prior successful teaching experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills--written and oral.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
