Systems Administrator
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Systems Administrator provides hardware, software, and cloud systems configuration, management, monitoring, and maintenance for the agency's IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure access for hybrid staff and end-user support. This position works closely with other internal and external IT positions to ensure smooth delivery of technology services and efficient issue resolution. The Systems Administrator must be highly organized and enjoy working within a fast-paced and mission-driven organization.
The ideal individual will possess strong foundational knowledge, have the willingness to learn new technologies and skills, and will exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written, verbal communication and administrative skills.
Associate's degree in related fields with 3+ years of experience in systems administration strongly preferred; industry certifications preferred but Not Required. Relevant Training, Professional Work And Life Experience considered in lieu of education and/or certification.
Responsibilities- Provide hardware, software, and cloud systems configuration, management, monitoring, and maintenance for the agency's IT infrastructure.
- Ensure reliable and secure access for hybrid staff and end-user support.
- Collaborate with internal and external IT positions to ensure smooth delivery of technology services and efficient issue resolution.
- Maintain organized work practices in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Apply good judgment and strong written, verbal communication and administrative skills in daily tasks.
- Adhere to existing quality assurance and documentation standards with attention to detail.
- Demonstrate critical thinking to determine data and information relevant to improvements, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
- Assess and analyze risks and develop mitigation strategies; exercise advanced technical skills when applying procedures and deciding when to involve other team members.
- Develop and maintain non-native API integrations when applicable.
- Manage and monitor network resources, including firewalls, VPNs, network switches, and topology understanding.
- Work with a variety of hardware, software, programming languages, and cloud platforms.
- Respond to off-hours emergencies as required.
- This is a 35 hour per week, full-time, on-site position requiring availability for scheduled shifts between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in our Greenfield office. Hybrid flexibility available dependent on currently assigned tasks.
- Computer & Technical Proficiency:
Expertise in cloud systems management; experience in network monitoring, patch management, and disaster recovery. - Advanced skills with firewalls and knowledge of Zero Trust networking principles and VPN administration.
- Experience with network switches and understanding of network topology.
- Knowledge of a variety of hardware, software, programming languages, and cloud platforms.
- Experience developing non-native API integrations is a plus.
