** Position Summary**:
Valley Steel Stamp is hiring a
** CNC Maintenance Technician** **(2nd Shift - 2pm to 12am; Four day weekends every other week!)
** to support the repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of CNC machines and related manufacturing equipment. This position is responsible for diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant, and machine-control issues; completing maintenance work orders; and helping reduce downtime across production. The CNC Maintenance Technician works closely with Maintenance leadership, Production, Engineering, Quality, and the Training Technician to ensure equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.
** Responsibilities**:
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines, machining centers, lathes, mills, grinders, robotics, conveyors, coolant systems, pumps, and related production equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with maintenance schedules, work orders, equipment manuals, and company procedures.
• Diagnose machine issues involving mechanical systems, electrical controls, sensors, motors, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, spindle systems, and tooling-related equipment.
• Respond to machine downtime calls and support production in safely returning equipment to operation as quickly and effectively as possible.
• Read and interpret machine manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and maintenance documentation.
• Document completed work accurately, including repairs performed, parts used, downtime details, root cause information, and follow-up needs.
• Assist with machine installations, moves, leveling, alignment, preventive maintenance projects, and process improvement initiatives.
• Inspect equipment to identify repair needs, safety concerns, wear conditions, and potential failures before they impact production.
• Work with the Maintenance Manager and Training Technician to support onboarding, training, and skill development for maintenance team members as needed.
• Communicate equipment issues, repair status, part needs, and production impacts to Maintenance leadership and appropriate department contacts.
• Maintain tools, parts, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout requirements, PPE requirements, and environmental procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.## Qualifications
** Required*
* • High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in industrial maintenance, machine repair, CNC equipment maintenance, or a related mechanical/electrical troubleshooting role required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose equipment issues in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, bearings, belts, sensors, and basic machine controls.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance-related shop equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to follow written procedures, complete documentation, and communicate repair status clearly.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while supporting production needs.
** Preferred*
* • Five or more years of maintenance experience in a CNC manufacturing environment.
