Position Summary

Valley Steel Stamp is hiring a CNC Maintenance Technician – Second Shift to support the repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of CNC machines and related manufacturing equipment. This position is responsible for assisting with equipment repairs, completing preventive maintenance tasks, responding to production equipment issues, and supporting overall machine reliability.

This role is designed for a motivated maintenance professional who has a foundation in industrial equipment, mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, or CNC operations and is interested in developing additional CNC maintenance skills. Valley Steel Stamp will provide training and hands-on development for the right candidate.

The CNC Maintenance Technician works closely with Maintenance leadership, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of CNC machines, machining centers, lathes, mills, grinders, robotics, conveyors, coolant systems, pumps, and related production equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks according to maintenance schedules, work orders, equipment manuals, and established procedures.
  • Support diagnosis of machine issues involving mechanical components, electrical controls, sensors, motors, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, and other equipment systems.
  • Respond to machine downtime calls and assist production teams with safely returning equipment to operation.
  • Learn to read and interpret machine manuals, electrical schematics, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.
  • Complete maintenance documentation, including work performed, parts used, equipment issues, and follow-up needs.
  • Assist with machine installations, moves, alignment, leveling, and improvement projects.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, safety concerns, and potential failures.
  • Learn and apply troubleshooting techniques to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain tools, parts, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Follow all company safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental procedures.
  • Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and parts needs to Maintenance leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Prior experience in industrial maintenance, CNC machining, manufacturing, mechanical repair, electrical troubleshooting, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to learn CNC equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Must successfully complete approximately one month of first-shift training before transitioning to second shift.
  • Ability to work the required second shift schedule: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM with a rotating schedule providing a four-day weekend every other week.

CNC Maintenance Technician –Developing - $22.00–$25.00/hr
- Entry-level maintenance technician or candidate with related manufacturing experience. Performs preventive maintenance tasks, assists with repairs, learns CNC equipment operation, and develops troubleshooting skills with guidance.

CNC Maintenance Technician –Proficient - $25.00–$28.00/hr
- Demonstrates the ability to independently complete routine maintenance tasks, troubleshoot common mechanical and electrical issues, perform equipment adjustments, and support production downtime response.

CNC Maintenance Technician –Experienced - $28.00–$30.00/hr
- Strong maintenance background with the ability to perform a wide range of repairs, troubleshoot equipment issues with limited supervision, and contribute to equipment reliability improvements.
