General DescriptionThis position is designed to complement Life Path’s approach to meeting the needs of Life Path Home Care consumers and older adults in Franklin County and the North Quabbin Area. This position follows an evidence‑based model of volunteer training and implementation where volunteers are matched one‑on‑one with consumers. The priority responsibility is to manage and support the daily operations of Life Path community‑based programs, volunteer recruitment, management & stewardship;
and participating & coordinating Life Path outreach activities. Current Life Path community programs supported by this role encompass assisted transportation to medical appointments, phone pals companionship, a social support network for LGBTQIA+ older adults and other community projects that may evolve. This position has a cross‑department administrative support component focused on effective integration of programs and reporting & monitoring systems, and providing back‑up support to the Director of Community & Volunteer Resources, as requested.
Functions
– Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of assigned community programs, including day‑to‑day activities and volunteer intakes and supervision meetings along with implementing volunteer reference checks, orientation, annual training, and ongoing recruitment activities.
- Initiate and implement tailored volunteer recruitment strategies; achieve program recruitment goals; provide one‑on‑one follow‑up when needed.
- In collaboration with Life Path Client Service case managers, follow‑up to meet program needs that support Home Care & non‑Home Care consumers served in Life Path Volunteer programs.
- Support community program volunteers to resolve challenges/conflicts that may arise.
- Implement volunteer applicant intake process, conduct reference checks, and match volunteers with Life Path consumers.
- Provide Rainbow Elders Steering Committee support to the volunteer program and the part‑time Life Path Group Facilitator.
- Facilitate and coordinate the mandatory annual LITMOS Volunteer Training process.
- Implement & support volunteer stewardship activities and at Life Path events; provide support and acknowledgement of the contributions of Life Path volunteers and participate in annual appreciation activities.
- Support implementation of Life Path Bi‑Annual Volunteer Satisfaction Survey across all volunteer programs along with annual Client Satisfaction surveys by program.
- Prepare monthly program statistics reports; utilize volunteer and client databases and software programs to strengthen program processes; update the Medical Transportation Resource Guide for Older Adults in Franklin County & North Quabbin areas every 6 months with Franklin County COA/Senior Center inputs.
- Support Supervisor with ongoing evaluation of community programs; identify and address longer‑range program planning that enhances the Life Path volunteer experience and meets the needs of the vulnerable populations Life Path serves.
- Update annually the Life Path Volunteer Handbook; prepare new applicant Volunteer Intake materials as needed.
- Regularly update Life Path case managers and other staff on volunteer program offerings.
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
