.

Schedule
  • Part-time, 24 hours/week
  • 1st shift, 7am-3:30pm
  • Every other weekend and rotating holidays

Job

Specific Duties /Responsibilities
  • Provides age-appropriate care to patients. Demonstrates knowledge of developmental stages for a variety of age groups and applies developmental theories and concepts when implementing care for patients across the lifespan.
  • Monitors basic physiological parameters. Takes and records routine vital signs within the specified timeframe as indicated by periodic review of documentation. Obtains and documents weights/heights, abdominal girths, head circumference (Pediatric Service) as per physician/nurse order 100% of the time as indicated by monthly review of patient records. Consistently reports significant deviations in vital signs as outlined in the procedure immediately. Records and reports any change in patient s normal drainage pattern (gastric, wound, urine, blood) 100% of the time.

    Documents findings in the patient s EMR.
  • Administers treatments and procedures in accordance with policy/procedures. Changes dressings within one hour of specified timeframe in accordance with established procedure. Provides postmortem care as directed by RN per policy. Performs procedures outlined in the nursing procedure manual within area of responsibility in accordance with specifications. Assists physicians with exams and simple procedures. Verifies patient identity prior to procedures using identification bracelets/bands.

    Follows established process and protocols for phlebotomy.
  • Assists patients with elimination of body wastes. Provides bedpan, urinal, and emesis basin on request as indicated by patient needs. Accurately labels and sends specimens of urine, feces, wound cultures and sputum within 30 minutes unless discussed with RN. Accurately measures and records intake and output in accordance with policy and documents in the EMR.
  • Performs point-of-care testing as required (ISAT, Urisys, glucose, pregnancy testing) and participates in QA and inspections to maintain regulatory status.
  • Assists with treatment by following orders delegated by the RN or provider. Monitors patient condition during treatment and notifies appropriate personnel of unexpected occurrences. Provides information to RN based on observations and documents treatments and activities consistently.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of relevant patient care experience required; 2 years with behavioral health experience preferred.
  • Experience may include behavioral health patients, direct patient care, group home settings, paraprofessional roles, or as a BRT Apprentice for 1 year.
  • Experience as a direct health care provider (e.g., psych sitter, CNA, MA, HHA, or PCA).
  • CPR through American Heart Association BLS Provider required.
