Position Summary

Valley Steel Stamp is hiring a CNC Maintenance Technician – Weekend Shift to support the repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of CNC machines and related manufacturing equipment. This is a high-skilled, independent maintenance role responsible for maintaining production equipment with limited supervision during weekend operations.

The CNC Maintenance Technician will diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant, and machine-control issues; complete preventive and corrective maintenance activities; and support production by minimizing equipment downtime. This position requires the ability to independently prioritize work, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and safely return machinery to operation.

The Weekend CNC Maintenance Technician works closely with Maintenance leadership, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Independently troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines, machining centers, lathes, mills, grinders, robotics, conveyors, coolant systems, pumps, and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose and correct complex equipment issues involving mechanical systems, electrical controls, sensors, motors, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, spindle systems, and tooling-related equipment.
  • Respond to equipment downtime and production support requests, identifying root causes and completing repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules, work orders, equipment manuals, and company procedures.
  • Read and interpret machine manuals, electrical schematics, blueprints, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately, including repairs performed, parts used, downtime information, root cause findings, and recommended follow-up actions.
  • Perform machine adjustments, alignments, installations, moves, leveling, and equipment improvement projects.
  • Inspect machinery to identify potential failures, safety concerns, wear conditions, and maintenance needs before impacting production.
  • Manage assigned maintenance priorities independently during weekend operations while escalating critical issues to Maintenance leadership as needed.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair progress, production impacts, and parts requirements to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain maintenance tools, parts inventory, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Follow all company safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental policies.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to equipment reliability, downtime reduction, and preventive maintenance effectiveness.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of CNC machining equipment maintenance experience or equivalent industrial maintenance experience.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair CNC equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics, machine documentation, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to safely perform lockout/tagout procedures and follow all safety requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple equipment issues in a production environment.
  • Ability to work the required weekend schedule:
    Friday
    - Monday | 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
