the Role

We are seeking a Urban Planner to join our team in Amman. As part of the urban development department, you will support the design, analysis, and coordination of masterplans at multiple scales, contributing to innovative and sustainable urban planning initiatives.

  • Support the development of urban planning and Master planning projects under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Develop urban design concepts, comprehensive land use plans, zoning regulations, development parameters, and urban design guidelines.
  • Contribute to site analysis, demographic studies, and spatial assessments to inform planning proposals.
  • Develop basic 3D massing models and spatial studies to test density, built form, and public realm strategies.
  • Prepare diagrams, layouts, presentations, and illustrative masterplan materials.
  • Support coordination with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, engineers, and environmental specialists.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and submission packages for client and authority review.
  • Contribute to integrating sustainability, mobility, and smart city principles into planning proposals.
  • Support the preparation of development control regulations (DCRs), plot guidelines, and planning documentation.
  • Participate in stakeholder workshops and internal design reviews.
  • Stay informed about emerging urban planning practices and local regulatory frameworks.
What do we need from you
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field
    .
  • Having mixed skills (Planning, Urban, Architecture, Landscape) is highly appreciated.
  • Familiarity with urban planning principles, land‑use planning, and development control regulations.
  • 4‑8 years of progressive experience in urban planning, with a focus on large‑scale urban development projects.
  • Strong urban design and conceptual design skills
    , with the ability to develop land‑use layouts, block structures, street sections, public realm concepts, and spatial diagrams.
  • Good understanding of urban morphology, placemaking principles, mobility integration, and public realm design
    .
  • Ability to support the preparation of Master Plans (CMP/DMP/SMP), urban design guidelines, presentation materials, and technical reports.
  • Proficiency in CAD and Adobe applications is required, while experience or familiarity with Revit and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience with 3D modeling (e.g., Rhino + Grasshopper, Sketch Up, ENVI‑met, or similar platforms).
  • Familiarity with development control regulations and basic planning approval processes.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s urban planning regulations and policies will be considered an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of sustainable urban design, mobility planning, and public realm design principles.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills, including diagramming and layout preparation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven track record of successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
