Overview
The Deer Park School District is seeking an Onsite Technician to join a highly collaborative and service-focused team. This position supports a variety of operational, organizational, communication, customer service, project, and technology-related functions throughout the district. The successful candidate will be a self‑starter who enjoys helping others, solving problems, learning new skills, and contributing to meaningful work that benefits students and staff.
We welcome applicants from a variety of professional backgrounds. While technology experience is beneficial, it is not required. Strong communication skills, professionalism, organization, reliability, initiative, and a willingness to learn are considered equally important. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail‑oriented, positive, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities while working independently and as part of a team.
- Address tickets in the ticketing system.
- Record and maintain inventory of assets.
- Support the staff and educational needs of the school building(s).
- Support Windows workstations.
- Install and provide immediate support for classroom technology, including projectors, document cameras, and interactive whiteboards/displays.
- Contribute to shared Knowledge Base to improve team response times.
- Prioritize daily activities including tickets and administration requests.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of customer service experience.
- 1-3 years of technical experience, deskside preferred.
- Patience and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work in a high-activity environment with frequent interruptions.
- Understanding of classroom technology.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems.
- CompTIA A+ Certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and daily vehicle availability required to support local travel requirements across all District facilities.
- Able to lift 50+ pounds.
