Our growing nonprofit organization in Winston‑Sel­am is seeking an experienced Grant Accountant to join our finance team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of grant‑funded programs that directly support our mission and community impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage grant budgets, expenditures, and funding allocations
  • Prepare grant‑related financial reports for federal, state, local, and private funding sources
  • Ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and regulatory requirements
  • Reconcile grant activity and maintain accurate supporting documentation
  • Partner with program managers to review budgets, spending trends, and funding utilization
  • Track restricted and unrestricted funding in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for grant‑funded programs
  • Support annual audits and provide required documentation related to grants and funding sources
  • Review reimbursement requests and prepare drawdowns as needed
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting best practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization
  • Experience managing grants, fund accounting, or government‑funded programs
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting software and nonprofit financial systems preferred
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

Pay Details: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour
