We are partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in the Triad area seeking an experienced AR / Collections Specialist for a contract assignment. This role is ideal for a results-driven accounting professional with a strong background in accounts receivable, collections, and cash application. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possess the ability to build relationships while effectively reducing past-due balances and improving cash flow.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a high-volume accounts receivable portfolio and oversee collection activities on past-due customer accounts.
- Review aging reports, prioritize collection efforts, and follow up with customers regarding outstanding invoices.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, short pays, and customer disputes.
- Process and apply customer payments, ensuring accurate cash application and account reconciliation.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate variances to maintain account accuracy.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Production, Shipping, and Accounting teams to resolve account-related issues.
- Monitor credit holds and assist with customer credit reviews as needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of collection activities, customer communications, and payment commitments.
- Support month-end close activities, reporting, and audit requests.
- Generate and analyze AR reports using ERP systems and Excel.
- 3+ years of Accounts Receivable and Collections experience.
- Prior experience within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong understanding of AR aging, cash application, account reconciliation, and dispute resolution.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reporting functions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
Pay Details: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour
