Minimum Experience/Education
- High school diploma or equivalency and one (1) year of administrative, clerical, customer service, or office support experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience providing customer service and administrative support in a professional office environment.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with common office software and technology.
- Associate's degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Two (2) or more years of progressively responsible administrative or office support experience.
- Experience working in a higher education, government, or nonprofit environment.
- Experience scheduling meetings, managing calendars, coordinating events, or supporting projects.
- Experience with records management, data entry, report preparation, and maintaining confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise systems such as Banner, People Soft, Workday, or similar administrative platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Position PurposeNorth Carolina A&T State University periodically has temporary staffing needs to support administrative operations across campus. This recruitment is intended to identify qualified candidates for temporary Administrative Support opportunities as workforce needs arise.
Temporary assignments may be available in a variety of offices and departments throughout the University. Opportunities may include providing clerical, customer service, office administration, coordination, records management, executive assistance, and operational support to faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors. Assignment length, work schedule, and level of responsibility will vary based on departmental needs.
Potential Duties and Responsibilities- Providing general administrative and clerical support to departmental staff and/or leadership
- Greeting and assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors in person, by phone, and through email correspondence
- Answering and directing telephone calls and responding to routine inquiries
- Preparing, proofreading, filing, scanning, and maintaining office documents and records
- Entering, updating, and maintaining information in databases, spreadsheets, and other electronic systems
- Scheduling appointments, meetings, and events, and coordinating related logistics
- Assisting with the preparation of reports, presentations, correspondence, and other business documents
- Monitoring and maintaining office supplies and assisting with procurement requests
- Supporting departmental projects, programs, and special initiatives
- Assisting with data collection, recordkeeping, and compliance-related documentation
- Maintaining confidential and sensitive information in accordance with University policies
- Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Applicants may be required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
