Our client is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in supplier negotiation, developing commodity strategies, and driving metrics‑based performance improvements. This role is pivotal in optimizing our supply chain processes, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining high‑quality supplier relationships. This is an onsite position and can be located in Greensboro, NC or the great Toledo, OH area.
Key Responsibilities- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align supplier capabilities with business needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive commodity strategies that align with company objectives.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks associated with commodity sourcing.
- Manage and optimize a diverse portfolio of commodities to ensure cost‑effectiveness and supply stability.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance and sourcing effectiveness.
- Analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance sourcing strategies.
- Prepare and present reports on sourcing metrics, supplier performance, and cost savings to management.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement strategies to achieve savings targets.
- Monitor and control sourcing budgets to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance and commodity availability.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiation and developing commodity strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software/tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
