The Historic Magnolia House, one of America’s most storied Green Book sites, is seeking a dynamic Director, Strategic Operations & Business Development to help shape the next chapter of our legacy and fuel our enterprise operations and future growth. This is more than a leadership role.

It’s an opportunity to build bridges and drive impact, between preservation and innovation, hospitality and community, legacy and revenue. You’ll work alongside the CEO and leadership team to strengthen our programs, expand our partnerships, and grow our business model in ways that sustain and celebrate our cultural heritage.

What You’ll Do Lead with Vision and Strategy
  • Partner with the CEO to develop and execute growth strategies that advance The Historic Magnolia House’s mission while expanding earned income and partnership opportunities.
  • Translate long-term goals into scalable, revenue-driven action plans across hospitality, education, preservation, and community engagement.
  • Identify and activate opportunities for strategic alliances, sponsor ships, and new business development that align with organizational priorities.
Drive Operational and Financial Excellence
  • Design and implement enterprise optimization projects to increase efficiency, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
  • Track performance metrics and use data to guide decision-making, resource allocation, and impact measurement.
  • Collaborate with operations and finance to ensure revenue growth aligns with mission outcomes and sustainability goals.
Grow Programs and Partnerships
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of cultural, educational, and community engagement programs.
  • Lead efforts to monetize and expand programming, including corporate hospitality memberships, sponsor ships, mobile education bookings, and venue rentals.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with corporate, philanthropic, and civic partners that drive visibility and funding support.
Build and Strengthen External Relationships
  • Serve as a key ambassador and relationship-builder, representing Magnolia House in meetings with donors, investors, corporations, and community leaders.
  • Identify emerging opportunities in tourism, heritage preservation, and cultural programming to generate new business and partnerships.
  • Support the development of proposals, presentations, and partnership agreements that align mission and revenue potential.
Be a Trusted Partner to the CEO
  • Manage strategic projects that advance cross-departmental goals and maintain enterprise alignment.
  • Streamline communications and internal systems to ensure clear execution of leadership priorities.
  • Represent The Historic Magnolia House at high-level engagements, embodying excellence, integrity, and innovation.
Who You Are
  • A strategic business developer and relationship-builder with experience in program management, hospitality, or cultural enterprise leadership.
  • A results-oriented thinker who blends mission alignment with financial and operational acumen.
  • A strong communicator and connector who builds trust and motivates teams and partners toward shared goals.
  • Passionate about preserving history, driving innovation, and creating sustainable systems that expand impact and opportunity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, operations, or program leadership, ideally within a mission-based or hospitality organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver measurable results.
Why Join Us?
