Description Of WorkThis position is responsible for delivering and picking up various printed materials, mail, and related products—including envelopes, cartons, skids of orders, and framed items.
Deliveries are primarily within the Raleigh area, requiring the ability to safely navigate congested traffic. Daily entry into Nash Correctional Institution is required for Print Plant pickups.
The driver must maintain a valid driver’s license, follow all traffic laws, and operate safely in all weather conditions.
Depending on the assignment, the driver may operate a box truck, passenger vehicle, or van.
Duties include offloading orders at customer locations, which may involve loading docks, stairs, or ramps.
Professional interaction is required with staff, medium‑custody offender workers, and customers.
This position must follow a strict pickup and delivery schedule, organizing and prioritizing routes to meet customer expectations. Clear communication is essential, including obtaining delivery signatures and relaying information back to the plant when needed.
