Job Summary

The primary objective of the Summer Camp Counselor is to provide a safe, engaging, and fun environment for youth participants ages 4-10. Counselors will lead and supervise daily camp activities, actively engage with campers, and ensure smooth transitions between scheduled programs throughout the camp day. This position plays a key role in creating a positive camp experience while promoting teamwork, creativity, and respectful behavior.

Job Duties
  • Supervise and actively engage groups of children in daily camp activities
  • Lead structured games, crafts, sports, and enrichment activities according to the camp itinerary
  • Rotate assigned groups throughout the facility to various activity stations in a timely and organized manner
  • Ride and minor bus riders daily, ensuring camper safety during transportation
  • Maintain constant awareness of camper location and well-being
  • Enforce camp rules and behavior expectations fairly and in a positive manner
  • Follow all safety procedures and emergency protocols
  • Creatively plan and implement additional activities when needed to support camper engagement
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, fellow counselors, and parents
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, patience, and enthusiasm
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • CPR (training provided)
  • Prior childcare, camp, or youth program experience is required
  • Ability to work effectively with children ages 4 - 10 in a group setting
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage groups, maintain structure, and encourage positive behavior
  • Dependable, responsible, and able to follow a structured daily schedule
  • Energetic, creative, and enthusiastic about working with children
  • Ability to stand, walk, and participate in physical activities for extended periods
  • This position involves both indoor and outdoor activities and requires constant interaction with children throughout the camp day

Pay Rate: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour Employment Type: Seasonal Start Date: May 2026
