Roller Operator

• Essential crew member for applying asphalt on highways, private roadways, parking lots, and driveways using roller equipment and power broom.

• Partner with other crew members to pave roadways using roller equipment; perform additional tasks of other positions per plan specifications as instructed by the crew foreman to ensure daily schedules and estimates are met.

• Physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes and for extended hours. Normal shift is 8-12 hours.
• Ability to utilize power broom and roller equipment with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• May be required to use power and/or hand tools needed to complete jobs within specifications.
• Ability to withstand common vibratory motion associated with operation of most roller equipment and occasionally rough terrain.
• Attendance according to company policy to ensure crew operates at normal efficiency.
• Professional demeanor with co-workers, customers, and the public.
• Flexibility for last-minute schedule/location/time changes; overtime may be required; out-of-town work may be required.
• Adherence to PPE policy and maintenance of PPE in functional condition.
• Initiative to assist with other positions to complete jobs.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
