Carolina Builders and Design is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers on commercial, hospitality, multifamily, and mixed-use construction projects throughout North Carolina.

The Assistant Project Manager will support all phases of construction, including preconstruction, procurement, project execution, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and project closeout. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to build a long-term career in commercial construction.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers in planning and managing multiple construction projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and owners.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and meeting minutes.
  • Assist with estimating, bid solicitation, and procurement.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and cost reports.
  • Perform regular site visits to monitor project progress and quality.
  • Ensure project documentation is maintained in Procore.
  • Coordinate inspections, permits, and closeout documentation.
  • Help identify and resolve project issues while maintaining project timelines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of construction or project management experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with Procore.
