We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of commercial and institutional construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, owners, architects, and subcontractors to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
About the Role
The Assistant Project Manager will assist with project administration, financial tracking, contract management, procurement, scheduling, and project documentation while gaining exposure to all phases of construction from preconstruction through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers in the day-to-day management of construction projects from startup through closeout.
- Support project budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and process owner pay applications, subcontractor invoices, and purchase orders.
- Assist with subcontract procurement, contract administration, and change order management.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with field leadership to monitor project schedules and progress.
- Help identify project risks and assist in implementing solutions to maintain schedule and budget.
- Participate in owner, architect, subcontractor, and internal project meetings.
- Assist with project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, closeout documents, and final turnover.
- Maintain organized project files and ensure timely communication among project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 1–4 years of experience in commercial or institutional construction, including internships or project engineering experience.
- Experience supporting commercial, institutional, education, healthcare, municipal, or other complex construction projects is preferred.
- Understanding of construction documents, project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
