Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Superintendent role located in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. The Superintendent oversees daily field operations, including coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and according to project plans and specifications. Responsibilities include monitoring quality control, enforcing safety standards, conducting site meetings, and maintaining clear communication with project managers, trade partners, and clients.
The Superintendent reviews drawings and documents, tracks progress, resolves on-site issues, and supports adherence to budget and project milestones. This role also requires maintaining accurate project documentation, fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders, and representing RCG’s core values on every jobsite.
Qualifications
- Experience managing commercial construction projects, including renovations, additions, and ground-up builds, preferably in healthcare, higher education, or similar sectors.
- Strong field supervision skills, including subcontractor coordination, schedule management, and daily jobsite oversight.
- Knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, safety regulations, and quality control practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents, and to assist with problem-solving in the field.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients, project managers, trade partners, inspectors, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and experience implementing jobsite safety programs.
- Proficiency with basic construction technology such as project management software, digital plans, email, and documentation tools.
- Relevant experience as a Superintendent, Foreperson, or similar onsite leadership role; prior work with a general contractor is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training, trade certifications, or a degree in construction-related fields is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site full-time, manage multiple priorities, and uphold RCG’s core values of dedication, trustworthiness, innovation, and personal commitment.
