Position Overview

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Associate Producer based in our Concord, North Carolina office. The Associate Producer is responsible for producing and editing various content for the company’s NASCAR Studios productions. As a member of the Unscripted Content group, the Associate Producer generates short and long form features, contributes to the production and editing of long form documentary projects for broadcast partners and NASCAR owned-and-operated channels, and provides support to third-party production partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Produce and edit content for productions assigned by NASCAR Studios and other creative outlets and platforms.
  • Collaborate with staff and freelance producers to develop, produce, edit, and deliver long form documentary content.
  • Organize and maintain production environments for projects that involve multiple producers and editors working with shared material.
  • Support third-party production partners in story research, gathering and organization of archival footage, distribution of NASCAR Studios resources, and promotional efforts. This may include accompanying these partners to race events as a location facilitator and NASCAR advisor.
  • Produce and edit high level, creative highlights of the NASCAR races.
  • Edit promotional content for the company’s events, series, features, one-off specials and other various internally and externally produced content.
  • Organize and produce field shoots, working with camera crews, talent, interview subjects, etc. to gather material for various productions. At times as a support person to more senior producers/directors, at times as the point person for the shoot day.
  • Write voice over scripts and direct recording sessions with talent.
  • Develop or assist in the development of question sets for interviews.
  • Conceptualize, write, produce and supervise graphics, edit, and audio post-production sessions.
  • Infuse new production approaches and editing styles into all videos that distinguish each project.
  • Strong knowledge of various Video Cameras (ARRI, Sony, and mirrorless cameras), audio, and lighting for interviews, NAT sound, stylized shoots and concepts.
  • Research, write and pitch ideas for future content.
  • Manage small projects independently with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects) for assigned projects.
  • Travel: up to 20%, including weekends.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.

    A.) from four-year college or university and minimum of four (4) years related experience, internship and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of company provided hardware and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Non-Linear editing experience.
  • Basic knowledge of client server, web technologies and/or systems integrations is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Strong organization, communication, and time management skills.
  • Strong understanding of cinematography, filming techniques, eye for detail, creative and new filming techniques.
  • Strong non-linear editing and post-production skills required (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, other post editing and audio tools).
  • Able to react quickly and positively in a wide variety of production situations.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at the same time with little direct supervision.
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, to meet deadlines.
