About the Position
Position Overview
One of our Partners in North Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist to provide overnight inpatient cardiology coverage at a large tertiary care hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. This role focuses on bread-and-butter cardiology consults and E&M services with no invasive procedures required . Temporary pacemakers and electrophysiology procedures are managed by the EP service on call , allowing the locum cardiologist to focus exclusively on consultative cardiology care.
This assignment offers a structured nocturnist schedule , Epic EMR, and the opportunity to work within a collaborative cardiology service line at a 628-bed regional referral hospital .
Pay Ranking: Top 10–15% nationally for non-procedural cardiology nocturnist locum assignments (2026 market data).
Estimated Annual Earnings: ~$700,000+ depending on coverage volume.

Job Responsibilities
Provide overnight cardiology consultation and E&M services
Evaluate and manage inpatient cardiology consults
Coordinate care with hospitalists, intensivists, and cardiology team members
Communicate with the EP service when electrophysiology procedures are required
Document patient care in Epic EMR
Participate in patient handoffs and interdisciplinary collaboration
Skills & Experience
Strong inpatient cardiology consult experience
Comfort managing overnight cardiology coverage
Bread-and-butter cardiology expertise
Experience with Epic EMR
Ability to work independently in a consultative role
