• 24-Hour Call Coverage:

  • Provide continuous 24-hour call coverage from 10:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
  • Handle all newborn care, including attending all deliveries and performing circumcisions as needed.
  • Provide coverage for c-sections and manage any neonatal resuscitation or stabilization required immediately after birth.

• Emergency Department Consults:

  • Respond to pediatric consults in the Emergency Department when requested.
  • Assist with the facilitation of transfers to higher levels of care if necessary.

• Pediatric Unit Admissions:

  • Admit pediatric patients to the inpatient unit as required.
  • Provide ongoing care and rounding for pediatric patients in the unit, ensuring comprehensive treatment and monitoring.

• Board Certification: Must be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Pediatrics.
• Fellowship: Completion of a Pediatrics fellowship is required.
• Licensing: Must hold an active medical license in Virginia.
• Certifications Required:
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is mandatory.
• Hospital Privileges: Not required.
• Temporary Privileges: Available, with an estimated credentialing timeframe of 60 days.

• Inpatient Setting:

  • The practice is set within an inpatient environment, focusing on pediatric care.
  • The department consists of 6 beds, and patient volumes vary depending on the day.
  • Rounding responsibilities will include both assigned and unassigned pediatric patients, ensuring thorough and compassionate care.

• Holidays Included:

  • Coverage is required for major holidays including New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
