Organizational Context
The Department of Information, Library, & Research Sciences (ILRS) at the UNC Greensboro School of Education invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 1, 2026. This position is a 9-month appointment on the main Greensboro campus with promotion and tenure possibilities. Tenure-track faculty members have responsibilities in three areas: teaching, research, and service.
Salary is $73,000-$76,000, commensurate with qualifications.
ILRS offers Bachelors, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in the intersecting areas of information, library, and research & evaluation sciences, including a Master’s of Library & Information Science degree accredited by the American Library Association. According to the 2021 U.S. News & World Report, the MLIS program is ranked #2 in North Carolina and #22 across the United States. We offer a fully online, synchronous Master of Library & Information Science degree, as well as a variety of in-person and hybrid programs.
