Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am-6pm, rotating weekends, at least one evening per week..

The City of Greensboro Public Libraries, McGirt-Horton Branch, is seeking a dynamic and service-oriented Adult Services Librarian to join our team. About the Role:
The Adult Services Librarian will play a crucial role in delivering reference services, designing engaging adult programs, conducting needs assessments, and leading outreach efforts. This position requires strong communication skills, a passion for lifelong learning, and a commitment to serving a multicultural community. Responsibilities include:
- Providing reference and general information services in person, over the phone, and via email
- Developing and executing innovative programming for adults
- Engaging in community outreach and fostering partnerships with local organizations
- Assisting with circulation, reader's advisory, and collection development
- Collaborating with library staff and community stakeholders to enhance services
- Assisting in the operation of the branch in the manager's absence
- Ensuring efficient and courteous service delivery to all patrons
This job is Exempt and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Qualifications
What You Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution "OR" a Master's Degree in a related field or the Ability to obtain within 6 mounths of hire, with 1-3 years of experience with the specialty focus area (Adult Services and Reference)
- 1-3 years of experience in adult services and reference
- 1-3 years of programming experience in a library setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience using library ILS systems (e.g., Horizon)
- 3 years of programming experience in a public library setting
- Experience working with teens and emerging adults
