Position Summary

The Coordinator for Residence Life is a full‑time, twelve‑month, live‑on, exempt position reporting to an Assistant Director for Residence Life. The Coordinator is responsible for developing community for 300–600 residential students. CRLs are accountable for providing programming, leadership development, supervision, and advising for their community.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree with concentration in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Post‑baccalaureate experience working in Housing and Residential Programs (Residence Life).
  • Special Instructions To Applicants: Upon hire, the selected candidate must have proof of completion of their Master’s Degree.
  • Recruitment Range: Commensurate with experience, plus a monthly campus allowance of $400.
Description of

Key Responsibilities Supervision and Leadership
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate 6–14 student staff.
  • May supervise a graduate student.
  • May supervise and coordinate hall desk operations and supervise desk assistants.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of departmental goals and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings with staff.
  • Provide appropriate referrals to other university departments/resources as needed.
  • Serve on an on‑call duty rotation.
  • Manage hall budgets.
  • Work with Administration and Facilities staff for community needs.
Student and Community Development
  • Coordinate, plan, evaluate, and oversee the implementation of programming and community building in the residence hall.
  • Serve as a judicial hearing officer for hall conduct.
  • Advise Hall Council.
  • Coordinate and support academic initiatives in the hall and department.
  • May work with a Living Learning or Themed Community.
  • Cultivate a positive and engaging living environment that fosters a sense of belonging and enables students to build positive relationships with one another.
  • May teach a course.
  • Maintain high visibility and availability, including attending community events, regularly walking the community, and interacting with residents.
Administration
  • Perform administrative duties associated with maintaining a residence hall community.
  • Maintain accurate accounting of allocated funds and expenditures.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members, departments, and offices across the University to foster strong partnerships.
Other Duties
  • Serve as a representative of Housing and Residence Life on various departmental, divisional, and university committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director(s), Associate Director, or Executive Director of Housing and Residence Life.
