Position Overview
The Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with the overall administration of the athletic training program. Primary sport responsibility will be supervision and management of athletic training services for sporting teams. Responsibilities include injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation; maintaining accurate medical records; practice and game/event coverage; pre‑participation evaluations; coordinating medical insurance claims; and supervising student athletic trainers and volunteers.
The selected candidate must communicate effectively with the head athletic trainer, team physicians, coaches, strength and conditioning coaches, and administrators. Additional duties may be assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training.
- Must be BOC certified and possess NC athletic training licensure (or be eligible for licensure).
- 1‑3 years of certified experience.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
- Experience at the collegiate level preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel required.
- Medium strength required to position student‑athletes for examination; may assist student‑athletes as needed, helping them on and off the exam table.
- Must successfully pass a background screening.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to/from work.
On‑site. Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on‑site.
