The Department of Agribusiness, Applied Economics, and Agricultural Science Education seeks candidates for a 9‑month, tenure‑track position of Assistant or Associate Professor in Applied Economics. The faculty member will develop and deliver course content in agribusiness and/or applied economics with a primary emphasis in data science and analytics (Big Data), statistical/econometric and computational methods, and will demonstrate expertise in Python, Stata, R, and/or SAS programming.

The candidate will also develop a quality academic research program with a promising peer‑reviewed publication record, assist with leadership of the Department’s Analytical Survey Laboratory, provide knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods with applications of Big Data analytics, and expand the Department’s research portfolio. Excellence in teaching and curriculum development is required with strong consideration of first‑generation and diverse student populations.

Continuous service involvement with the profession, Department, College, University, and Community is also expected.

All candidates must hold a Ph.D. in agricultural or applied economics, economics, agribusiness, or a related field by the time of appointment.

Candidates should have a record of accomplishments in quantitative methods and a potential for building a strong research and teaching program in econometrics and/or business data analytics.
