The Lennon Distinguished Professor in Epidemiology is a prestigious academic appointment in the Department of Animal Sciences, within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at North Carolina A&T State University. This role is established to attract a visionary and accomplished leader in the specialized field of Epidemiology— a vital discipline within human and animal public health focusing on disease surveillance, prevention, and control within populations.
The distinguished professor will drive impactful interdisciplinary research on disease emergence, transmission dynamics, and public health implications. They will also be instrumental in advancing the department's teaching and curriculum related to animal health, disease and related areas. The position will support the development of an interdisciplinary graduate certificate in One Health, part of the department's strategic plan, and will significantly contribute to preparing students for critical careers in animal health, public health, government, research, and academia.
This role is a cornerstone in advancing the university's mission of excellence in teaching, research, and outreach and is key to addressing global challenges at the animal-human-environment interface. This is a 9-month tenure-track faculty position.
