Role Description The Lead Preschool Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Area. This role is responsible for planning and delivering developmentally appropriate, multilingual language immersion lessons for preschool-aged children, aligned with World Kids® School’s educational philosophy and curriculum standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating engaging classroom activities, managing the learning environment, observing and documenting children’s progress, and ensuring a safe, nurturing space that supports social, emotional, cognitive, and language development.
The Lead Preschool Teacher will collaborate with assistant teachers and staff, communicate regularly with families about student growth, and participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events. The role also includes contributing to curriculum refinement, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and modeling inclusive, culturally responsive practices.
Qualifications
- Curriculum-focused skills:
Candidates should possess skills in Curriculum Development and Lesson Planning for early childhood settings. - Education domain skills:
Candidates should possess knowledge and experience in Early Childhood Education and Preschool/Kindergarten readiness. - Interpersonal and communication skills:
Candidates should possess strong Communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and engaging with families. - Additional beneficial qualifications:
Experience with language immersion or multilingual classrooms; understanding of child development and classroom management; ability to create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments. - Preferred background:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; relevant teaching certification as required by state regulations; prior experience as a lead or head teacher in preschool or early childhood programs.
