The Peer Mentor Program Lead will support the coordination and implementation of the Peer Mentor Program as a member of the Office of Academic Success and Student Development staff. Under the supervision of the Director of Academic Success and Student Development, the Peer Mentor Program Lead will assist with program communication, organization, student engagement, and day-to-day program activities. The Peer Mentor Program Lead will serve as a student leader who helps facilitate communication between the Director of Academic Success and Student Development and Peer Mentors.

The Lead will assist in communicating program information, coordinating meetings and activities, supporting Peer Mentors in fulfilling their responsibilities, and helping to ensure that program activities are organized and executed effectively. The Director of Academic Success and Student Development will provide overall leadership and direction for the Peer Mentor Program. The Peer Mentor Program Lead will work collaboratively with the Director and other Office staff to support the successful implementation of the program and provide a positive and engaging experience for participating students.

This position is ideal for an organized, dependable, self-motivated student who demonstrates leadership ability, strong communication skills, initiative, and a commitment to supporting student success and peer engagement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Serve as a student employee and member of the Office of Academic Success and Student Development staff.
  • Assist the Director of Academic Success and Student Development with the coordination and implementation of the Peer Mentor Program.
  • Help facilitate communication between the Director and Peer Mentors by sharing program information, expectations, schedules, deadlines, and updates.
  • Communicate questions, concerns, feedback, and program needs from Peer Mentors to the Director in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Assist with coordinating Peer Mentor meetings, activities, workshops, events, and other program initiatives.
  • Support the onboarding and orientation of Peer Mentors.
  • Assist with Peer Mentor training and professional development activities.
  • Help Peer Mentors understand program expectations, responsibilities, resources, and available support.
  • Assist with maintaining program schedules, calendars, participation records, and other organizational materials.
  • Support student engagement and relationship-building activities within the Peer Mentor Program.
  • Assist the Director with developing program resources, activities, communications, and materials.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen Peer Mentor engagement and improve the overall program experience.
  • Assist with special projects and other program-related activities as assigned by the Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain regular, timely, and professional communication with the Director of Academic Success and Student Development and Peer Mentors.
  • Assist with distributing program announcements, reminders, schedules, and other important information.
  • Follow up with Peer Mentors regarding meetings, activities, deadlines, and program responsibilities as directed by the Director.
  • Assist with planning, preparing, and executing Peer Mentor Program events, meetings, workshops, and activities.
  • Help maintain accurate program records, documentation, and participation information.
  • Provide general support and encouragement to Peer Mentors while referring program concerns and issues to the Director as appropriate.
  • Participate in required Office of Academic Success and Student Development staff meetings, Peer Mentor meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with the Director and other Office staff on student success and student engagement initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain positive, respectful, and professional relationships with Peer Mentors, students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to College policies, procedures, and professional expectations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, punctuality, accountability, and initiative.
  • Serve as a positive role model for Peer Mentors and participating students.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures established by the Office of Academic Success and Student Development and the Peer Mentor Program.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
