Position Overview
The Department of English invites applications for temporary, part‑time instructors for the fall 2026 semester. Instructors are hired on a semester‑by‑semester basis to teach English courses, including introductory and advanced level courses. The successful candidate will teach face‑to‑face and/or online First‑Year Composition (FYC), Humanities, and Creative Writing courses, attend training and review sessions, and may provide academic advising, support student organizations, and contribute to program development and assessment.
Responsibilities- Teach first‑year composition, humanities, and creative writing courses in face‑to‑face and/or online formats.
- Attend training and review sessions.
- Provide academic advising to students.
- Support student organizations.
- Participate in program development and assessment.
- Work cooperatively with faculty and staff.
- Work may be conducted remotely or in a hybrid arrangement consistent with university and state policies.
- Master’s degree in English or English Composition required at the time of application.
- Preferred: 1–3 years of teaching experience at the university or community college level with a background in rhetoric and composition.
