The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) has more than 2,000 students and 200 faculty and staff and is comprised of six departments, including Criminal Justice, English, History & Political Science, Journalism & Mass Communication, Liberal Studies, and Visual & Performing Arts. CAHSS develops programming based upon and consistent with employment trends that capitalize on the elements of an arts, humanities and social sciences education as well as enhance the visibility of programs, specifically in the liberal arts.

CAHSS endeavors not only to promote internal synergies and collaborations among its departments, but also to engage external partnerships with a focus on preparing graduates for a global workforce and/or higher education pursuits.

N.C. A&T is a public, land-grant, doctoral research institution and has been the largest historically Black university in the country for the past decade.
