Purpose of the Organizational Unit
Career & Professional Development (CPD) empowers Spartans to become Career-Ready from exploration to life beyond graduation. CPD accomplishes this mission by: 1. Providing data-informed guidance to help students discover career paths, develop transferable skills, and prepare for meaningful work and life;

The Part-Time Student Employment Assistant will support the Student Employment Manager in managing student employment on campus including I9 processing for FWS and non-FWS students, develop and manage relationships with campus supervisors and community partners, as well as assist in the coordination of FWS and FWS Community Service opportunities in partnership with the Office of Financial Aid.
Minimum QualificationsHIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY AND ONE YEAR OF RELATED OFFICE EXPERIENCE; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE.

Student Hiring Processing, Compliance, & Systems Support- Manage I-9 appointments through Handshake, ensuring timely approvals and adequate availability of timeslots, starting and completing appointments
- Complete I-9s for undergraduate, graduate, and international students from start to finish, including providing students with next steps once the I-9 is complete
- Complete the E-Verify process for each completed I-9
- Resolve any I-9 issues promptly
- Establish student employees as pre-hire in Banner HR
- Serve as an EPAF approver and verify the correct dates of EPAFs
- Support for audit and compliance of student hiring paperwork
- Train on new HR processes as they are implemented
- Support the Student Employment Manager with UNCG’s transition to Neo Ed

- Monitor the student employment email and voice mail
- Assist the Student Employment Manager in supporting student supervisors through trainings as well as in-the-moment questions & concerns

- Research peer institution student employment practices, webpages, and resources to identify best practices and inform SEO improvements
