About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Project Engineer to join our client project on a contract basis to support ongoing upgrade projects at their manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be instrumental in planning, coordinating, and executing capital improvement projects aimed at enhancing production efficiency, safety, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver end-to-end project engineering tasks for factory upgrades, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
- Oversee equipment installation, utility integration, and process optimization in a live manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, quality assurance, and external contractors.
- Ensure all upgrades comply with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and relevant engineering codes.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project updates for stakeholders.
- Support commissioning and validation activities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment; food and beverage industry experience highly preferred.
- Proven track record managing capital projects in operational facilities.
- Familiarity with hygienic design principles, utility systems (e.g., CIP, steam, compressed air), and packaging lines.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with automation systems and controls (PLC/SCADA).
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- Working knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
