Job Description

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing quality assurance activities at supplier sites to ensure that raw materials, manufactured goods, and services meet or exceed strict engineering and quality requirements. You will work independently under general supervision to secure project deliverables and manage supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance & Auditing: Perform process audits and surface treatment audit follow-ups. Verify that suppliers and subcontractors have received and understood all engineering and manufacturing requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Conduct follow‑up visits with suppliers failing to meet APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) requirements. Secure approvals prior to Project Gate Deliverable dates.
  • Corrective Actions: Review and analyze corrective action reports to eliminate defects. Perform deviation investigations into quality issues as needed.
  • Communication: Maintain routine (daily/weekly) communication with Group Managers, SNQ Engineers, and Surface Treatment Specialists regarding APQP deliverables and PPAP status.
  • Decision Making: Authorize supplier approval and greenlight the shipment of parts to manufacturing plants based on quality compliance.
  • Reporting: Promptly notify management of any roadblocks that may impact project timing or deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Typically requires 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or a related engineering field.
  • Education: Professional‑level knowledge typically obtained through a degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Technical Proficiency: Practical knowledge of APQP deliverables and PPAP status.
  • Experience conducting process and surface treatment audits.
  • Ability to analyze technical drawings and quality requirements.
Skills & Competencies
  • Independent Work: Ability to work effectively with general supervision, managing difficult but typically non‑complex problems.
  • Communication & Influence: Strong ability to influence stakeholders and suppliers through the clear explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
  • Problem Solving: Skilled in performing root‑cause analysis and deviation investigations to ensure continuous improvement.
Project Details

Work assignments and tasks are ordered on a frequency determined by project needs. Deliverables are managed in accordance with agreed‑upon order handling and project milestones.
