Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician
About the Role
This Service Technician role is key to maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction and ensuring that field‑deployed equipment meets Maverick Power’s high quality standards. The Technician will support equipment installation, start‑up and commissioning, troubleshoot and repair power distribution equipment, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing staff to upgrade, modify or configure installed equipment. Strong technical detail orientation, excellent organization, punctuality, and a sense of urgency are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Travel to customer sites and work independently or as part of a team for equipment installation, start‑up and commissioning.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Field Services and Product Management to address quality and warranty concerns.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, service manuals and product instructions for equipment configuration.
- Complete field technical reports, update safety documents and log quality findings and resolutions using company and customer CMMS.
- Work with service management, engineering and manufacturing to resolve manufacturing quality issues and engineering change requests.
- Interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs and specifications.
- Use standard and specialized electrical test equipment to diagnose, program and repair installed equipment.
- Assist engineering staff in gathering information for technical documentation.
- Use mechanical skills to install, adjust and repair electro‑mechanical components or assemblies.
- Support service sales by interfacing with engineering and manufacturing to develop solutions, monitor production and provide status updates.
- 2‑year technical degree and minimum 2 years of electrical/mechanical experience (or equivalent education and experience).
- Ability to travel, including overnight stays, as required.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, power studies, equipment operation and repair manuals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company or rented vehicle.
- Compliance with all company administrative and safety policies.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
The role may involve working in various settings at Maverick Power facilities, offices, shops and commercial buildings. Tasks may require maintaining the same position or posture and sitting for prolonged periods. This description is not exhaustive and may change with business needs.
