VoIP Engineer
Performs hands-on vulnerability remediation, patching, upgrades, and secure configuration hardening for Voice over Internet Protocol platforms and supporting services. Ensures voice services remain stable, secure, and compliant with metrics and service level agreement reporting expectations. Essential functions include reviewing Qualys Vulnerability Management findings and vendor advisories relevant to voice platforms; defining remediation approach and maintenance plan. Execute upgrades and patching for voice platforms, gateways, and supporting servers as applicable under formal change control.
Implement hardening configurations including secure administrative access controls, protocol security, logging posture, and certificate and encryption alignment where applicable. Validate service health post-change including call routing and quality; document evidence and outcomes. Maintain remediation metrics including success rates, vulnerability aging, and repeat findings; support service level agreement reporting.
Required qualifications include 9+ years of direct, hands-on Voice over Internet Protocol engineering experience in enterprise environments. Demonstrated experience executing production upgrades and changes with validation and rollback planning. This role requires onsite work as needed. Candidates must live within driving distance of Greensboro, NC. Preferred qualifications include hospital information technology experience strongly preferred; broader healthcare experience is preferred. Certifications highly desirable:
Cisco Certified Network Associate Voice, vendor platform certifications, or equivalent. Work schedule expectations include participation in scheduled maintenance windows as required. This role requires onsite work as needed.
