Chemistry Lab Supervisor Job Description
As a Chemistry Lab Supervisor on our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will:
- Lead and oversee laboratory operations supporting plating processes
- Ensure chemical baths meet required specifications for production quality
- Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and process optimization
- Oversee local wastewater treatment system and hazardous waste shipments
- Supervise daily lab activities, including analysis of plating baths, waste treatment, and process solutions
- Maintain and optimize plating chemistries (e.g., nickel, tin, precious metals)
- Maintain wastewater treatment system
- Precious metal accountability
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.)
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for lab testing and reporting
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on process improvements and validations
- Manage chemical inventory and vendor relationships
- Train and mentor lab technicians and ensure proper documentation practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in electroplating or surface finishing operations
- Strong knowledge of wet chemistry, titrations, and analytical techniques
- Experience with plating processes such as electroplating and surface treatment
- Familiarity with environmental compliance and wastewater treatment systems
- Strong problem‑solving and data analysis skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, manufacturing environment

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $104,800–$157,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
