Common Criteria Security Engineer

Job Description

We are searching for a Common Criteria Security Engineer to join our team in Morrisville, North Carolina. This role is crucial in our efforts to meet the Common Criteria standard across various product teams. The position involves interaction with third-party labs conducting testing and government bodies overseeing the certifications. This opportunity offers a long-term contract employment.

We are a team of Certification Engineers that are authorities in Common Criteria. We collaborate with product teams throughout to ensure that they can meet the Common Criteria standard. We also interact directly with the third‑party labs doing the testing and the government bodies that run the certifications.

Daily activities include: collaborating with external third‑party labs, globally located engineers and program managers, BU DE community inclusive of Dev test/QA test teams for pre‑certification and certification initiatives across the portfolio. Surgically assess feasibility of certification assurance/completion. Work within a collaborative team environment for entire lifecycle of certification process – technical documentation writing/development, network analysis; business analysis/feasibility studies.

• Government policy and technical expertise in the following areas: 2‑3 years (minimum) of Common Criteria.
• 6 or more years industry experience.
• Must be self‑motivated, self‑starter, demonstrated ability in IT networking and security.
• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.
• Ability to architect and document product solutions and translate into certification requirements.
• Good technical writing skills and ability to draft sophisticated engineering documentation.
• Apply security engineering knowledge and expertise to solving problems within certification projects.
• CCNA, CCNP or similar certifications preferred.
• Working knowledge of networking technologies including network security/IDS/IPS, network access, routing, switching, datacenter/cloud computing, cryptography/encryption.
• Deep technical comprehension/working knowledge preferred of deploying and administering technology, products and networks, including Unified Communications.
• Communicate and interface globally with all levels of management, such as engineering, product management, product marketing and development test engineers and external vendors.
• Ability to run multiple initiatives concurrently with minimal direction.
• Willing to travel. Travel will vary based on program and individual’s location.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills.
• The ability to work optimally and add value as a team member is critical.
