Sr. Technical Preparation Engineer
Volvo Group North America, LLC (Greensboro, NC) seeks an experienced Sr. Technical Preparation Engineer to support liaison activities between GTT engineering and GTO production engineering, ensuring that manufacturing requirements are incorporated into new product designs. The role involves reviewing, participating in, and ensuring production readiness, coordinating implementation of new designs and changes through the production implementation stages, and ensuring compliance with all applicable manufacturing policies and procedures.
The engineer will also lead virtual manufacturing simulations (product assembly, ergonomics, tooling & equipment, kinematic analysis) to propose improvements to assembly sequences and overall manufacturing processes, set technical requirements on product—including process-related criteria—and approve technical solutions.
- Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
- At least 5 years’ experience in each of the following areas:
- Using Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques.
- Working with technical drawings and conceptualizing manufacturing solutions.
- Working with CAD tools.
- Using productivity improvement tools and methods.
- Must be based in the Greensboro, NC area; telecommuting is permitted within commuting distance of the office.
Salary: $113,756 to $126,520 per year.
