As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead and execute end-to-end mechanical engineering solutions aligned with precise functional, geometric, cost, quality, and regulatory targets. You will be responsible for integrating multi-disciplinary deliveries, safeguarding quality before product release, and shaping product and system roadmaps. Beyond technical design, this role acts as a key contributor to business development, cross-functional networking, and external academic partnerships while actively mentoring junior talent across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Design & Integration:
Technical solutions designed to meet functional, stylistic, volume, geometric, cost, quality, and regulatory prerequisites. Sub-system and component deliveries from cross-functional teams integrated, with overall design quality and readiness secured prior to release. - Leadership & Execution:
Mechanical design engineering activities led within assigned domain, driving execution to meet or exceed business targets. Component history data leveraged to inform project prerequisites and mitigate technical risks. - Roadmap & Innovation Input:
Strategic inputs provided for product and system roadmaps, driving business development and continuous technical innovation. - Strategic Networking:
Partnerships built and maintained with universities, research institutes, and external technical bodies. Cross-organizational networks managed to align engineering deliverables with wider business objectives. - Mentorship & T-Shaped Development:
Technical coaching provided to junior engineers and peers. Deep discipline expertise balanced with broader cross-functional capability (T-shaped profile) while modeling lifelong learning.
Experience
Required:
5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
- Core Technical Expertise:
Advanced CAD design (e.g., Creo, CATIA), mechanical integration, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), design for manufacturing (DFM/DFA), and cost/quality target management. - System Integration & Quality:
Deep understanding of product release processes, failure mode analysis (FMEA), regulatory compliance, and system-level validation. - Leadership &
Coaching:
Demonstrated ability to direct project workflows, mentor junior engineers, and foster a continuous learning environment. - Strategic & Network Influence:
Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, university/institute engagement, and contributing to technical roadmaps. - Communication:
Clear articulation of value creation to technical leads and business area stakeholders.
