Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise in corporate and sales tax, journal entries, and general ledger management will be highly valued. As a Contract to long-term role, this is an excellent opportunity to transition into a lasting position while contributing to the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and file corporate tax returns in compliance with federal and state regulations.

- Handle sales tax reporting and ensure timely submission of all required documentation.

- Create and manage accurate journal entries to support financial transactions.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and precise reporting.

- Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements to identify discrepancies and implement corrections.

- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data and provide insights.

- Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.

- Ensure adherence to accounting principles and company policies in all financial activities. Requirements - Strong knowledge of corporate tax regulations and reporting.

- Hands-on experience with sales tax processes and filings.

- Proficiency in creating and managing journal entries.

- Familiarity with general ledger account reconciliation and maintenance.

- Ability to handle month-end and year-end closings with precision.

- Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards.

- Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills for effective collaboration.
