Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 per year

Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager supports the Controller and CFO in overseeing core accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance for a multi-entity transportation business. This role ensures accurate, timely financial reporting, maintains strong internal controls, and drives process improvements in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements
• Produce weekly profit reporting and management reports
• Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to leadership
• Support ad hoc financial analysis

• Coordinate with third-party tax preparers for corporate tax filings
• Prepare and file sales/use, IFTA, and related tax returns
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

• Support month-end close and general ledger reconciliations
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Assist with internal and external audit coordination

• Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Partner with leadership to align financial plans with business goals

• Monitor AR metrics (DSO, aging, cash forecasting)
• Monitor AP metrics (DPO, aging, discount utilization, cash flow)

• Streamline accounting workflows and enhance reporting accuracy

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of accounting experience
• Strong GAAP and tax compliance knowledge
• Experience in multi-entity or multi-location environments preferred
• Proficient in ERP systems

• CPA preferred
• 3+ years Big 4 Public Accounting experience
